Having such a cold coming of it, such a tourtuous journey - and still having no safety nets in this freezing, indifferent world. But no matter, I do feel like having made it, whatever is to come with these sparse resources: I am in the world needing, being needed, loving, being loved. That surely is the highest achievement, especially when coming from my particular low starting point? Of course there are all the surrounding long views, the visions, the secret harmonies. But we are not measured by books, by thought, by learning, by material achievement, we are measured by love.
